In the Pink

Rose, salmon and pink gold, the one colour of glass that flatters everyone beneath it.

Pink glass is easier to live with than its reputation suggests. Lit, it warms skin and plaster together, and at a low dimmer setting the colour deepens. It sits well against sage, grey and dark timber, and it needs no other pink in the room to justify it.

Rosae Rosarum is the loudest piece here: a classical chandelier covered in glass roses, which the maker calls a riot of them. Nube stacks three volumes of salmon pink Murano glass around a column of carved crystal. Rosè by Danilo De Rossi is a wine glass made into a lamp, coated in pink gold that shades to clear at the base.
