Fabric and leather absorb as well as diffuse, so pieces that use them give a lower, warmer light with very little glare. They also bring a texture to the ceiling that glass and metal do not.
Marco Zito's Nappe Pelle for Masiero reworks the tassels of Venetian houses in leather, and Masiero's Ola pairs fabric with a fall of coloured glass droplets. Leather and fabric colours vary slightly between hides and batches.
