Green glass has a long history on desks and in panelled rooms, and it still belongs there. It holds its colour unlit, and it cools the light slightly as it passes through, which makes it better as a lamp or a wall light than as the only light over a table.
Caterina sets a white glass cup above an olive green bell on a brushed gold arm, and Italamp's olive suits dark painted walls and timber panelling. Rosè Maxi hangs a single blown bowl, 40cm across, in green water glass. Vogue puts a pleated shade on every arm of a classical glass chandelier, and Lollipop by Leo De Carlo stacks discs of art glass 200cm high in the colour the maker calls Sweetmint.
Dark walls suit most of these, so see also The Dark Room.
