Rosè 3050/S4 Cluster Pendant

Four Rosè glasses hang from one canopy at staggered heights. Each is a bowl of blown glass shaped like a wine glass and turned upside down, finished with a gold metallic coating and carried on an iron grey fitting, so the cluster reads as four mirrored gold forms by day and four warm points of light when lit.

Danilo De Rossi, the Venetian architect who has been Italamp's art director since 2016, took the classic silhouette of the wine glass and reinterpreted it as a lamp. The collection is a tribute to rosé wine, and its metallic coatings, gold, rose gold, titanium and clear, recall the shades the wine takes in the glass. With the lamp on, the gold coating turns translucent and the light inside shows through as a bright core within the bowl.

In the room, the S4 is 33cm across and 30cm tall, with the drop adjustable from 10 to 100cm, a compact cluster for a small round table, a kitchen corner, a bedside or a stairwell where the glasses can be seen from below. It takes four 7W E14 tubular LED lamps, and TRIAC dimming is included as standard. For a single point, the S1 carries one glass; for a dining table, the larger seven-light SG7 suits a bigger space. The same glasses come as a floor lamp and a wall light, so a scheme can carry the gold coating from room to room.

Made in Italy by Italamp, which has designed and made lighting since 1975 from its base at Cadoneghe, near Padua.
