Marco Zito

The Venetian architect who brought the tassels of Venice's palazzi to Masiero.

Marco Zito is a Venetian architect who graduated under Vittorio Gregotti and is associate professor of industrial product design at IUAV in Venice. He took his first steps in industrial design in blown glass at the Salviati furnace on Murano, and his work for other makers has been selected for the ADI Design Index five times.

For Masiero he designed Nappe, which reworks the 'nappine', the tassels of Venetian stately homes, as modular pendants, and Serica and Serica Dot, which carry the same idea into slimmer, more architectural forms. His line on the work: 'An object is only as good as the thought behind it.'
