Vegas 175cm Linear Pendant

Vegas turned on its side: a 175cm bar of glass strips, 27cm deep and 27cm high, stepping down in tiers towards each end with champagne leaf showing between them. It carries the same 72W and the same 58kg as the Vegas 175cm Vertical Pendant, in a line above a table.

The rippled strips are hand-made glass with a rock-like surface, wrapped around a metal frame. Marc Sadler based the family, part of Masiero's Atelier collection, on the sparkle of Las Vegas, and over a table it gives you that from every seat. Masiero, founded in 1981 and still family-run, carries out all the processing in its own plant at Casale sul Sile.

In the room

It suits a dining table of about 240 to 300cm or a long island, and the 27cm depth is narrow enough to leave a 90cm top clear by about 31cm each side. Masiero photographs it above a long glass table in a room with plenty of height.

Hung 80cm above a 75cm table, the top of the bar comes to 182cm, so the 150cm gold silk cable suits a ceiling up to about 3.32m. The weight is the main thing to plan for: 58kg hung along a bar needs a fixing into structure at both suspension points, so bring the studio in before the ceiling is finished.

It gives 7,680 lumens at 3000K, plenty for a table, and dims by 0-10V.
