Girasole Chandelier

Girasole is Italian for sunflower, and the flower is the whole subject of this chandelier. Amber petals of glass paste open around a dark seeded centre, backed by green sepals, on a six-light frame of clear art glass with a crest. The cups beneath the lamps are flowers too, with paste petals turned downward. Multiforme's point is that the sunflower is seldom used in classic chandelier decoration, and that is what sets the piece apart.

There are two glass choices. Clear and polychrome is the version photographed, with amber and green against the clear arms and a green glass knop above the final clear drop. Plain clear keeps the form and gives up the colour, which changes the character of the piece entirely. The list also offers a version with lampshades in place of the glass cups, and the shade colour is confirmed at specification. Gold and nickel frames are both offered, polished or brushed.

It comes in one size, Ø95cm and 110cm tall, with a drop of 125 to 175cm. Over a round table of about 150cm or a rectangular table for six to eight, with 75cm clear above the table top, the ceiling needs to be at least 2.75m. To walk beneath it, allow 3.35m. The colour is strong, so give it a plain wall or ceiling, and hang it where the flowers can be seen from below.
