Rosè Maxi 3050/G Pendant

Rosè Maxi 3050/G is the large version of Italamp's Rosè: a single blown glass bowl 40cm across and 90cm tall, hung from an iron grey stem. The glass carries a metallic coating, either a shiny coppered finish or a green water tone, which reflects the room when the lamp is off and turns translucent and warm when it is lit.

Rosè takes the silhouette of a wine glass and turns it into a lamp. The bowl is blown glass with a metallic coating, and the finishes are chosen to recall the shades of rosé wine, which the collection is named for. Italamp introduced the Maxi to give the collection a bigger scale, and describes it as interpreting light with an unusual and ironic look, playing with the sinuous shape and the sparkle of its finishes.

Danilo De Rossi has practised as an architect and designer in Venice since the 1980s. He took a master's degree in lighting design at the Milan Polytechnic, led creative direction at Leucos from 1996 to 2015 and at De Majo Murano from 1994, and has been Italamp's art director since 2016.

At 90cm tall, the Maxi is a piece for volume. Two side by side over a dining table of 1.8m to 2.4m is the arrangement Italamp photographs, and it suits a stairwell or a double-height hall singly or in a staggered group. The cable adjusts from 10cm to 150cm, so the overall drop runs from about 1m to 2.4m. On a standard 2.4m ceiling even the shortest drop brings the glass to about 1.4m from the floor, so keep it over a table rather than a walkway. A single 14W E27 LED lamp lights the coated glass. TRIAC dimming is included; Casambi control is available.

Made in Italy by Italamp, which has made lighting in Italy since 1975 and is based at Cadoneghe, near Padua.
