Kia Ora takes the form of a Rezzonico chandelier, with its flat, spreading structure and open arms, and fills it with colour. Clear blown glass is trimmed in ruby and light blue, then hung with flowers and small bells in polychrome glass paste. The flambeau applies all of that to a three-light table piece, 80cm high and 55cm across, on a broad round base of ruffled glass.
Treat it as an object first. The column is built from stacked blown sections, and the base has a ring of light blue and ruby glass at its edge. Three arms carry the lamps, and the flowers sit among them on long stems. It weighs 12kg, and needs a substantial surface.
A pair on a long sideboard or a console in a formal dining room is the classic use, and a single flambeau on a centre table holds an entrance hall. Choose the plain clear version if the room already has pattern. Three E14 lamps are enough for a soft light, so it can be the only source on that side of the room.
Multiforme is a manufactory of art glass lighting based at Trebaseleghe, in the Veneto.
