Lollipop Wall Light

A single disc of art glass, lit from behind and set 8cm off the wall. Leo De Carlo's Lollipop discs carry raised geometric decoration in contrasting glass, and with the 12W LED on, the pattern stands out against a field of saturated colour. Switched off, it still reads as a hand-made glass object.

Four diameters are available, 20, 25, 35 and 48cm, and the point of having four is to use several. The maker shows them in loose groups across a wall, mixed in size, the way a collector hangs plates. Three or five of mixed sizes make a composition about 1.2m across. Blueberry suits a dark or inky wall, Sweetmint brings the strongest colour against concrete or plaster, and Strawberry is warm enough for a dining room or a bar.

At 8cm deep they fit a corridor, and at 2 to 4kg each they need no special fixing. A single 48cm disc works as a focal point at the end of a hall. Leave enough plain wall around it to see the edge of the glass.
