Light of Love Portable Lamp

Nicola Grandesso's Light of Love is a flock of doves in frosted art glass. Each bird has a long, pointed tail and holds a lamp inside its body, so the whole bird glows white when lit. The portable version places one bird on a small metal cylinder with a brushed surface, 37cm high, and runs on a rechargeable battery with a 2W LED.

The maker offers the base in brushed gold or dark burnished brass. Both are worked by hand to give depth to the metal, and the gold reads warm and bright where the darker brass recedes. The bird's tail reaches 30cm from head to tip, and it is the part that gives the lamp its outline.

With no cable, this can go where a lamp normally cannot: on a dining table for an evening, on a restaurant table, or on a shelf with no socket near it. A pair on a long table is enough. It weighs 2kg.
