Autumn Leaves Pendant

Autumn Leaves is a fall of hand-formed art glass leaves, hung on fine cables from a ceiling plate in a composition the maker calls free fall. The leaves are in warm tones, acacia, amber and gold, mixed with leaves of forged and gilded metal, so some transmit the light while others reflect it. The photographs here show the largest composition, 145cm wide, with around 100 glass elements, which Caspen offers through the studio.

There is no visible lamp. The LEDs are built into a decorative leaf-shaped ceiling rose, and they light the glass from above, which is why the leaves look lit from within. The rose itself is part of the piece. The glass is also made in clear, which is a colder and more formal version of the same idea. The frame is polished gold or polished nickel.

The three sizes here are the round versions. Ø33cm and 60cm tall suits a small hall or a bedside corner. Ø44cm and 80cm tall suits a round table for four. Ø55cm and 95cm tall holds a stair landing or a dining table in a room with a 2.7m ceiling or more, on an overall drop of 85 to 115cm. All three are heavy for their size, at 12, 25 and 35kg, so the fixing should be checked.
