Rosè 3050/LS5 Linear Pendant

Rosè 3050/LS5 hangs five glass bowls in a line from a 100cm iron grey canopy. Each bowl is blown glass with a titanium coating, a cool metallic grey that turns translucent once the lamp inside is lit, so the glass reads as mirror by day and as smoked light by night.

Rosè takes the silhouette of a wine glass and turns it into a lamp. The bowl is blown glass with a metallic coating, and the finishes are chosen to recall the shades of rosé wine, which the collection is named for. Each bowl takes a 7W tubular E14 LED lamp, set vertically inside the glass so it lights the full height of the bowl.

Danilo De Rossi has practised as an architect and designer in Venice since the 1980s. He took a master's degree in lighting design at the Milan Polytechnic, led creative direction at Leucos from 1996 to 2015 and at De Majo Murano from 1994, and has been Italamp's art director since 2016.

The LS5 is the Rosè for a long surface. Over a kitchen island of 1.6m to 2.2m, a bar or a dining table for six, the 100cm canopy spreads the five glasses evenly, and the 13cm depth keeps it light in a narrow room. Each glass is 30cm tall on cables adjustable from 10cm to 100cm, so on a 2.4m ceiling the bowls can sit at the usual 75cm to 85cm above a worktop or table. For a room with more than one Rosè, the single 3050/S1 and the three-light 3050/S3 come in the same titanium glass.

TRIAC dimming is included, so it runs on a standard dimmer; Casambi control is available.

Made in Italy by Italamp, which has made lighting in Italy since 1975 and is based at Cadoneghe, near Padua.
