Bagatelle takes the traditional hanging lantern and redraws it with a light touch, dressing the familiar frame in a refined fall of crystal so a form everyone knows arrives carrying far more fire than it ever did. The crystal is Schonbek's Heritage Handcut, made in Europe the slow way: each facet cut one at a time on iron and sandstone wheels, then polished with marble dust on a wooden wheel, to patterns replicating gems that hung in the castles of the Habsburg empire. Schonbek has made crystal lighting since 1870, when Adolph Schonbek founded the house in Bohemia.
