Argent Table Lamp

The Argent table lamp sets Dodo Arslan's shimmering cloud on a slim stem at around 40cm high. The cluster is made from metal discs shaped by hand by Terzani's craftsmen, each one set at its own angle, with three small LED lamps hidden inside. The light reaches you broken into reflections rather than as a single glow, and the wall behind the lamp picks up a fine pattern of light.

It has the presence of a small sculpture. On a console in a hall, a sideboard in a dining room or a desk in a study, it holds the eye in daylight as much as after dark, because the discs keep catching whatever light is in the room. Placed in pairs, either side of a bed or at the ends of a long sofa, it gives a room a quiet symmetry. At 2.2kg and around 40cm high, it sits steadily on a shelf or a narrow console.

The finish sets the mood. Stainless steel gives a cool, bright sparkle that sits well with stone, glass and pale timber. Gold and champagne bring warmth to darker woods and deep colour, and sunset rose softens the light to a gentle pink. The table lamp is also the natural companion to Argent pendants, wall sconces and chandeliers, so one scheme can share a single material from table to ceiling.
