Serica Dot

Serica Dot reduces Marco Zito's Nappe tassel to a single compact cylinder of metal, 15 to 20cm long, with one of five turned ornaments at its head: a sphere, a dome, a collar or a stack of them. Hung from the Nappe ceiling mount, a short bar from which the cables fall in sharp V shapes, the five modules make a composition of small points of light at different heights, which Masiero likens to a quiet constellation.

The cylinders are Ø2.5cm or Ø4.8cm, each with a 4W LED in its base that lights downward. They come in ten finishes: a matt deep black body with the ornament and details brushed in champagne, golden bronze, copper, pure gold or dark nickel, or the whole module electroplated in one of those five brushed metals. Nappe began with the tassels that tie back the curtains in Venetian palaces; Serica Dot keeps the ornament and drops the fringe.

Marco Zito designed Serica Dot for Masiero, and it was launched with Serica at Masiero's Milan showroom in Via Statuto for Milan Design Week in April 2026. Masiero has made lighting at Casale sul Sile, near Treviso, since 1981, and makes each piece through the full cycle, from the metalwork up, in its own workshops.

In the room

The V-cable compositions are drawn for a specific line on the ceiling. The C3 linear spans 100cm and the C5 linear 150cm, so they sit over a kitchen island or a dining table of 180 to 240cm, the cables crossing in a zigzag above the table. The close triangle and close pentagon gather three or five modules into a small polygon over a round table or a side table, and the ten-light close circle, 80cm across, is a centrepiece for a sitting room or an entrance hall. Each cable runs up to 300cm, so the modules can be set low over a table or stepped through a stairwell.

The pebble canopy versions hang three or five modules from a round canopy, Ø40 to Ø80cm, for a cleaner ceiling. The single modules light a bedside or a niche on their own.
