Mizu Single Pendant

A single Mizu is a drop of crystal about 11cm across, small enough to cup in two hands. Nicolas Terzani designed it around the way water bends light, and each one is shaped by hand by master craftsmen in Tuscany, so no two are quite the same. Switched on, the light inside breaks through the crystal and moves across the nearby walls like sunlight off water.

The name is Japanese for water. Nicolas Terzani leads the in-house design team at his family's lighting house in Florence, which has been making lights since 1972, and this single drop is where his Mizu collection begins.

In the room. Alone, it is a quiet, jewel-like light for a bedside, a reading chair or a console, hung low enough to be seen. In a row it lines a kitchen counter or a bar. The canopy version arrives complete with a small white ceiling canopy and runs directly from the mains. The disc version replaces the canopy with a 5cm white disc and runs from a separate driver, so a number of drops can be scattered across a ceiling to your own plan, each at its own height, from 20cm to 190cm. It is the route to a bespoke Mizu composition, and Caspen sizes the drivers to suit.

Clear crystal gives the sharpest patterns. Gold, champagne and cognac warm the light and the glass, cognac most deeply, and silver dust holds a fine shimmer inside the crystal. Choose the integrated LED module at 3000K or 2700K, or a dimmable G4 LED bulb version.

Each crystal is shaped by hand in Tuscany for Terzani of Florence.
