Frame

Frame preserves a moment of nature in glass. Inside each borosilicate glass form sits a metal leaf of coral, its open lattice as fine as lace, with a single lamp hidden within it. When it is lit the glow passes through the coral, and the lattice throws a delicate shadow of its own pattern onto the walls around it, so the room carries an imprint of the leaf.

Designed by Terzani Lab, Frame comes in three pendant shapes, a slim Ø7cm cylinder, a fuller Ø10cm cylinder and a Ø17cm cone, each 45cm tall, and a matching wall sconce. The coral is finished in white, silver plated or gold plated: white for the softest, most botanical look, silver for a cool shimmer, and gold for warmth that reads almost like candlelight through the glass.

Frame is quieter than many Terzani pieces and comes into its own in groups. Hung at staggered heights over a dining table or a kitchen island, a mix of cylinders and cones makes a composed cluster that looks considered from every side, as in Terzani's own photographs. A pair or a run of three over a narrow table or a bar works just as well, and a single cone over a bedside table or in a small hall is a modest piece with real detail when seen up close. The overall height of each pendant is set on site between 95cm and 190cm. The wall sconce, 45cm tall, frames a mirror or a bed, and its glass echoes the pendants when the two are used in one room.

Because each piece is relatively light and simple to install, Frame also suits projects that need many matching fittings, such as restaurant tables or hotel bedrooms.
