Argent Pendant

A single Argent is the whole idea at domestic scale: a cluster of around 40cm built from metal discs that Terzani's craftsmen shape by hand and set at shifting angles. Three small lamps sit inside it, so when it is lit the discs throw the light outwards in small, separate reflections, and the ceiling above picks up a fine scatter of points.

Dodo Arslan designed Argent for Terzani as a shimmering cloud, and the same cluster is made as a pendant, a wall sconce and a ceiling light. That lets a scheme carry one material through a room, so the pendant over the table and the sconces on the wall belong to each other.

Hang single pendants in twos or threes over a kitchen island or a narrow dining table, or at staggered heights in a stairwell; the overall drop is set on site between 60cm and 190cm. A pair either side of a bed frees the bedside tables entirely. The wall sconce is made for pairs, flanking a fireplace, a mirror or a doorway, and repeated down a corridor it gives a long passage a rhythm of light. The ceiling light, Ø40cm and around 28cm deep, brings the same effect to rooms where a pendant would be in the way, such as hallways, landings and dressing rooms.

The mini disc version replaces the canopy with a discreet Ø5cm white disc and moves the driver out of sight. It is the neater choice when several pendants are grouped into one cluster, or when the ceiling should look almost untouched. The driver is included in the price.
