Rosè 3050/P1 Floor Lamp

The Rosè floor lamp raises a single bowl of blown glass, shaped like a wine glass, on a slender stem 165cm tall above a round base. The lamp sits inside the bowl, so the glass glows around it, and the metallic coatings, gold, rose gold or titanium, turn from mirrored by day to translucent when lit.

Danilo De Rossi, the Venetian architect who has been Italamp's art director since 2016, took the classic silhouette of the wine glass and reinterpreted it as a lamp. The collection is a tribute to rosé wine, and its finishes recall the shades the wine takes in the glass. The floor lamp is its simplest statement of the idea: one glass, one stem, nothing else.

In the room, the base is 26cm across, so it fits in the corner beside a sofa, at the end of a console or between two chairs, and Italamp shows it in pairs flanking a seating area. It takes one 7W E14 tubular LED lamp, so this is a lamp for mood rather than reading: the glass glows at head height and lights the wall around it. TRIAC dimming is included as standard. Five versions are offered here. Transparent glass on chrome or shiny gold is the lightest choice and shows the lamp inside most clearly; the coated glasses in rose gold, gold or titanium read as solid colour by day. The same glasses come as pendants, clusters and a wall light, so a scheme can carry one coating through several rooms.

Made in Italy by Italamp, which has designed and made lighting since 1975 from its base at Cadoneghe, near Padua.
