Regolo 8146/SG Linear Pendant

Regolo 8146/SG is a single straight line of light, 160cm long, with one marble sphere. The bar is aluminium in warm grey with an opaline diffuser, and where the bar meets its suspension sits a sphere of black Marquinia marble, the one heavy element in an otherwise light composition.

Italamp describes Regolo as minimal, built from straight lines and geometric shapes, with the marble sphere set in deliberate contrast to the lightness of the aluminium. In warm grey with black Marquinia, the contrast is quieter than in the champagne and Calacatta gold version: the marble reads as a dark full stop, its white veining visible up close.

Regolo is designed by Stefano Traverso, born in Genoa in 1973 and a graduate in industrial design of the Scuola Italiana Design in Padua, where he has taught since 2001; before working with Italamp he was at the studio of the architect and designer Enzo Berti.

The SG is the longest of the standard Regolo pendants. At 160cm it suits a dining table of 2.2m to 2.6m or a long kitchen island, and at only 14cm deep it keeps sightlines open across an open-plan room. Cables adjust from 10cm to 150cm, so on a 2.4m ceiling the bar can hang 75cm to 85cm above a table, and in a taller room it can still come down to table height. The integrated 30W module gives 2,900 lumens at a colour rendering above 90, enough to light a table on its own. For a shorter table there is the 122cm Regolo 8146/S, and the Regolo Maxi reaches 180cm to 200cm.

The module is supplied non-dimmable; TRIAC, 0-10V, DALI and Casambi versions are available.

Made in Italy by Italamp, which has made lighting in Italy since 1975 and is based at Cadoneghe, near Padua.
