Dragon is what happens when molten brass is caught at the moment of explosion. Dodo Arslan's sculpture for Terzani, cast at a historic foundry in Tuscany, freezes a burst of liquid metal mid-air: dozens of branching, splashing arms radiating from a dense centre, each one finished by hand until it carries a mirror polish. It holds no light source of its own. Lit from above by downlights, the polished brass catches the beams and throws them around the room, so the piece reads as both sculpture and light. Every Dragon is numbered, made to order and tailored to its setting, in four configurations from a compact 40cm form to a 1.8 metre installation.
Made by hand in Florence.
