Airone is the Italian word for heron, and the piece wears the name well.
Rows of satin teak glass leaves stand upright around two gold nickel rings, packed close like plumage, with the LED source set into the rings beneath them. The light travels up through the satin glass rather than out from it, so every leaf glows and nothing glares.
At 120cm across and 47kg of metal and glass, it holds a double height space without effort, delivering 12,000 lumens of warm 3000K light from a 100W module. The drop adjusts from 10 to 100cm.
Designed by Italamp Studio and made in Italy, with dimming and a 2700K colour temperature available on request.
