masiero-serica-dot-by-marco-zito
Masiero Serica Dot by Marco Zito

Serica Dot reduces Marco Zito's Nappe tassel to a single compact cylinder of metal, 15 to 20cm long, with one of five turned ornaments at its head: a sphere, a dome, a collar or a stack of them. Hung from the Nappe ceiling mount, a short bar from which the cables fall in sharp V shapes, the five modules make a composition of small points of light at different heights, which Masiero likens to a quiet constellation.

The cylinders are Ø2.5cm or Ø4.8cm, each with a 4W LED in its base that lights downward. They come in ten finishes: a matt deep black body with the ornament and details brushed in champagne, golden bronze, copper, pure gold or dark nickel, or the whole module electroplated in one of those five brushed metals. Nappe began with the tassels that tie back the curtains in Venetian palaces; Serica Dot keeps the ornament and drops the fringe.

Marco Zito designed Serica Dot for Masiero, and it was launched with Serica at Masiero's Milan showroom in Via Statuto for Milan Design Week in April 2026. Masiero has made lighting at Casale sul Sile, near Treviso, since 1981, and makes each piece through the full cycle, from the metalwork up, in its own workshops.

In the room

The V-cable compositions are drawn for a specific line on the ceiling. The C3 linear spans 100cm and the C5 linear 150cm, so they sit over a kitchen island or a dining table of 180 to 240cm, the cables crossing in a zigzag above the table. The close triangle and close pentagon gather three or five modules into a small polygon over a round table or a side table, and the ten-light close circle, 80cm across, is a centrepiece for a sitting room or an entrance hall. Each cable runs up to 300cm, so the modules can be set low over a table or stepped through a stairwell.

The pebble canopy versions hang three or five modules from a round canopy, Ø40 to Ø80cm, for a cleaner ceiling. The single modules light a bedside or a niche on their own.

Made by Masiero in Casale sul Sile, Treviso.

Configurations

C3 linear: modules A, B and C on a V-cable mount 100cm long, cables up to 300cm, 12W LED, 1,230 lm, canopy Ø10cm

C3 close triangle: modules A, B and C in a triangle about 33 x 35cm, cables up to 300cm, 12W, 1,230 lm, canopy Ø10cm

C5 linear: modules A to E on a V-cable mount 150cm long, cables up to 300cm, 20W, 2,050 lm, canopy Ø12cm

C5 close pentagon: modules A to E in a pentagon about 62 x 64cm, cables up to 300cm, 20W, 2,050 lm, canopy Ø12cm

C10 close circle: two of each module in a circle about 80cm across, cables up to 300cm, 40W, 4,100 lm, canopy Ø16cm

C3 PB 40: three modules on a Ø40cm canopy, drop up to 300cm, 12W, 1,230 lm

C3 PB 60: three modules on a Ø60cm canopy, drop up to 300cm, 12W, 1,230 lm

C5 PB 80: five modules on a Ø80cm canopy, drop up to 300cm, 20W, 2,050 lm

Single modules: S1 A Ø2.5 x H15.2cm, S1 B Ø4.8 x H15.5cm, S1 C Ø4.8 x H17.5cm, S1 D Ø4.8 x H19.5cm, S1 E Ø2.5 x H17.5cm, each 4W, 410 lm, canopy Ø4.5cm

Specification

Designer: Marco Zito

Materials: Matt painted metal with brushed galvanic details, or fully galvanised metal

Finishes: Matt deep black (V9T) with brushed champagne, golden bronze, copper, pure gold or dark nickel details, or fully electroplated in brushed champagne (G30), golden bronze (G31), copper (G29), pure gold (G26) or dark nickel (G27)

Light source: Integrated LED, CRI above 90, 4W per module

Colour temperature: 3000K as standard; 2700K on request

Dimming: TRIAC (mains dimmer)

Suspension: Black cables up to 300cm

Certification: CE

Origin: Made in Italy

Every Serica Dot is made to order by Masiero in Italy.
