masiero-bozu-table-lamp-and-wall-light-by-signorotto-partners
Masiero Bōzu Table Lamp and Wall Light by Signorotto + Partners

Bōzu is built from plain solids: a globe of opaline white Murano glass and a metal cone, stacked one on the other like a small totem. The glass is triplex, three layers cased together, which is why it glows evenly with no visible hot spot. The metal is galvanised and painted matt black with a band of brushed pure gold, or finished in brushed pure gold all over.

The design is by Signorotto + Partners, and Masiero describes it as a meeting of minimalism and function, plain geometric forms set against contrasting materials. It was shown as one of Masiero's new collections at Milan Design Week in April 2025, in the company's then newly opened showroom in Via Statuto, in Milan's Brera district. Masiero has made lighting at Casale sul Sile, near Treviso, since 1981, and makes each piece through the full cycle, from the metalwork up, in its own workshops.

The table lamps and wall light use the same stacked forms at a domestic scale. The TL is the Bōzu module set on a table, Ø14cm and 26cm high, with a dimmer on the lamp itself. The TL G is the larger table lamp, 41cm high with a Ø21.5cm globe. The TL Portable is cordless: it charges on a wireless base, dims by touch, and can be carried from a terrace table to a bedside. The A1 holds a globe off the wall on a short arm and lights up and down at once.

In the room

The TL suits a bedside or a narrow console; the TL G has the height for a sideboard, a desk or a living-room side table, where its 1,636 lumens give useful reading light. The A1 works in pairs either side of a bed or a mirror, with the centre about 160cm from the floor, or in a run along a corridor, where its up and down light marks the wall in two arcs. Matt black and gold sits well with walnut and other dark timbers; brushed gold all over is warmer on pale walls.

Made by Masiero in Casale sul Sile, Treviso.

Configurations

Bōzu TL: Ø14 x H26cm, 6W LED, 725 lm at 3000K, dimmer on the lamp

Bōzu TL G: Ø21.5 x H41cm, 11.5W LED, 1,636 lm at 3000K, dimmer on the lamp

Bōzu TL Portable: Ø14 x H26cm, rechargeable, 1.3W LED, 250 lm at 3000K, touch dimming, wireless charging base included

Bōzu A1: W14 x D22 x H31cm, LED up 4.7W and down 4.7W, 725 lm each way at 3000K, TRIAC dimming

Specification

Designer: Signorotto + Partners

Materials: Galvanised and painted metal; opaline white Murano triplex glass

Finishes: V90 matt black with G26 brushed pure gold, or G26 brushed pure gold

Light source: Integrated LED, CRI above 90

Colour temperature: 3000K as standard; 2700K on request

Dimming: On the lamp (TL, TL G), touch (TL Portable), TRIAC (A1)

Certification: CE

Origin: Made in Italy

Every Bōzu is made to order by Masiero in Italy.
